Well, lets start this out with an apology for being really bad at keeping in touch with most of you guys. However, now that I have the "inter-net" I'll actually check the blog and work on that. Moving on...
Happy New Year to everyone, I hope you're all doing well and had a good Christmas. It was very short and I didn't even get to see Chris as I had planned (sorry dude, I forgot my phone so I couldn't call and tell you we were only going to be in Aurora for one day instead of two like last year). It was nice to get home for the first time in a year though, and if it makes you feel better, I hadn't seen my brothers in a year either. I also got a chance to meet my future sister-in-law, and I got to see Doug's fiancee also. Brad's doing well, cancer free and getting married in June in St. Louis (I'll see you there, Jonathan). Doug's also getting married, in May 08, to my best friend from high school, which could be weird but is actually really cool.
As for what I've been up to since the wedding... My job sucks, I really hate every moment of it here in Charleston. The city's great, but my job involves dealing with dead babies (not like in the jokes, but real ones, which are even less funny) and child rapists. However I had some good news a few months ago. I got picked up for a deployment to Iraq for six months and got to go to some badass training in New Jersey (sorry John, it was 7 days a week and I didn't get to travel, which really pissed me off being so close). However a few weeks before I was supposed to leave I got a call that I'd been postponed. Now it looks like I'll be going for a year sometime around July, which will hopefully allow me to see Anthony over there, though that would be a long shot. Anyway, I did get that deployment replaced by a short "deployment" which starts on the 9th and lasts through mid February. I'll be disappearing for that timeframe, though I'll try to check the blog to keep in touch but even if I can't communicate, that really won't be a change for you guys (again, I'll work on that).
Anyway, I hope you all are doing well and I look forward to catching up when we get a chance. Oh, and the South really is as lawless as Pat makes it sound (that canoe trip was fun, dude). I'll post something less boring when I get back from my mini-deployment.
